Pickaxe Progression
To mine you will always need to have at least 1 Pickaxe. By owning a Miner, you will automatically have access to a Basic Pickaxe+9. This Pickaxe can only be used to mine in the Depths, the first cave. To mine more interesting items and recipes you will need a Pickaxe that can be crafted with the corresponding Recipe. The upgrade costs and success rate of the Pickaxe are:

Once you have a Pickaxe +9 you can sacrifice it to craft a Common Pickaxe +0 that can be used to mine in the Underground Chasms with Better loot, better XP, and better recipes.
